Bird Flu (Single Version)

from Bird Flu by Ned Greenough

lyrics

The house lights fade
And the gobes light up
It’s time to start the show

A wicked dance
In the the deep twilight
Showing eyes that sparkle and glow

She moves ever swiftly
Feet barely hit on the floor
But as the music changes
Her softness turns into a roar

But what did make me trust in your motion?
Was it the same little thing that twirled you about?
I fell in love with the commotion
And there’s something more I wanna find out

That fabrics change
And it picks up pace
It’s time to rock and roll

The shade of blood
Covers the stage
To show this bird has flown

And then, like an animal
Released from it’s tiny cage
She breaks out screaming
Fists in the air enraged

But what could make me trust in your motion?
Was it the same little thing that tossed you around?
A connection between the commotion
This canary’s making my heart pound

Start back
To where it all began
An angel of purity and grace

Where wings take flight
Across the aisles
And light pours from the stage

She is beauty
Perfection I adore
Like a black swan rising
From the water begging for more

Snap back to reality
Stop putting your heart in everything
But if you kill the mockingbird
There’s no way you can hear it sing

But what did make us touch in your motion?
Was it the same little thing that brought me to you?
I’m in love with your commotion
I think I’m getting sick with a little bird flu

Turn about round…
